In 1995 the Lone Peak Dopplemayr Tram began transporting the daring to the Big Sky Resort Lone Mountain’s 11,166 summit. The 15-person tram, shaped like a large soup can, carries the brave up & out onto advanced, expert, and extreme terrain, including south facing skiing, described by expert skiers and snowboarders as European-like, open face skiing and snowboarding, with couloirs extreme pitches, and chutes upwards of 50 degrees above Big Ski Resort.
